As we emerge from lockdown, it is encouraging to report a new pub opening. The Keystone Hope St, formerly Bread & Butter/ Clove Hitch (Hope St), opened on the 12th April.

We reached out to them on Twitter for some further information and receive the following response from Director/General Manager Charlotte Hardiman 'We aim to champion local breweries on both keg and cask to support the Merseyside beer industry. You will regularly see the likes of Neptune, Chapter, Handyman, Carnival and many more on rotation. Keystone will start with 3 cask lines and 6 keg lines. Which we hope to increase in the future if it proves popular. We will also have the full range of Turncoat gin. A Liverpool distillery.'

Charlotte continues 'I first worked in this bar as a waitress when it was the clove hitch and jumped at the opportunity to take it over as my first venture independently. Keystone's whole ethos is to strive to promote the great breweries that were influenced by the previous bar that resided here The Clove Hitch & 23 Club. Which also strived to bring good beer to the city.'

They are getting pretty full already so we strongly suggest people book either through This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call them on 0151 708 6591 to book a table as walkins won't always be possible. Their beer garden can cater to up to 40 people but we are filling up fast!
