Neptune  ‘When the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown hit the hospitality trade, Neptune set up a crowdfunder campaign to support the brewery. The target was greatly exceeded and we were overwhelmed by the support from our local community and beyond.

Following later government guidelines, we adapted and opened the taproom under limited times of a Friday and Saturday for draught take out in two and four pint containers. During this time we would have been celebrating our 5th birthday as a brewery, so although our plans didn’t go ahead exactly how we had imagined, we have been selling our  birthday beers brewed in collaboration with Marble, Anarchy, Anspach and Hobday and USA based brewery, Neptune’s Brewery.

Alongside draught take out, we have continued to can our beer and have been racking 5L mini casks - which have proven very popular and we plan to continue selling these.

During this time we also decided to give our taproom a small makeover, including an extension to the bar, a few more seats for customers and refresh of decor.

Despite the proposed set guidance of 2 or 1 metres, this isn’t viable for Neptune to fully reopen, and we will not open until it’s safe to do so.’
