Big Bog BreweryBig Bog Brewery in Speke now has a licensed bar and is due open at the end of January (actual date to be confirmed) on Fridays. Initially, it will open from 4-8pm and will serve beer from both traditional cask and key keg and hope to have at least 4 different beers available at each session.

The Old Bank

Written by

The Old Bank on the corner of Aigburth Road and Ashfield Road L17 has been run by Gary and Svetlana for the last five years now. The pub has a good, loyal, customer base and four hand pumps serving local and other popular real ale. The Big Bog brewery from Speke supply up to three real ales including "Bog Standard" (3.6ABV), " Hinkypunk"
(4.1ABV), "Welsh Pale Ale" and "Swampy" all being served well and popular with the regulars. The other pump is usually, but not always, occupied by a real ale from Timothy Taylor - "Directors" being popular and in good condition and promises of more variety from TT with "Ram Tam" (4.3ABV) and "Knowledge Spring" coming soon. Opening times are 1-11pm each day and on Tuesday evenings their is live Irish music.

All 82 buses stop 50 yards from the pub and the 60, 61 and 68 stop in Aigburth Vale, a short walk away.

Definitely worth a visit.
